Chapter 1-Origins and Theories of Government
These files are the introductory notes and term sheets that are given to the students to begin their exploration of chapter 1. We look at the theories of where governments come from like the Force, Divine Right, and Social Contract theories. We also begin to compare and contrast Presidential vs Parlimentary systems, Unitary vs Federal vs Confederate systems. The primary goal is to ask the question: what is a government and what should governments do?
